It was not long ago that Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez was the butt of many a joke in German footballing circles. For a while it seemed like he couldn’t even score in a brothel. Yet this season he is rejuvenated and maybe he holds the key to Bayern Munich progressing to the Champions League Final on May 19th 2012 at the Allianz Arena.
With 11 Champions League goals to his name this season, Gomez is just one goal behind the prolific Lionel Messi.
