Golovkin v Brook -Against the odds

On September 10th in London Kell Brook will be out to prove he is indeed special and pull off a shock victory against boxing’s most feared fighter – middleweight knockout artist Gennady ‘GGG’ Golovkin

Gennady Golovkin has opened as a 7-to-1 favorite over Kell Brook, who pays 4-to-1 as the underdog.  But as the fight draws closer will the odds fall in Brook’s favour?  A few prominent boxing figures sense an upset.

“Brook will win and bring boxing to a stop,” says former featherweight world champion “Prince” Naseem Hamed and Ricky Hatton, who is more sceptical gives Brook a shot to upset the bookmakers “Nobody thought I could beat Kostya Tszyu and I did do, so you can’t say that it’s an impossibility and Kell’s not going to win.” stated the Hitman.

With the betting odds having Golovkin a 7-to-1 favourite and even dropping to 6-1 with Betway, Stan James and William Hill, the bookies could be covering themselves for an upset.

Conventional wisdom however would point to a Golovkin victory. Too strong, to adept at cutting off the ring and with a murderous left hook, my money is on Golovkin to win in round 11. Not a bad bet at Paddy Power – 33-1.

This wonderful promo by Gorilla Productions should get you in the mood for what promises to be a classic encounter.
