Dereck Chisora spits in Wladimir Klitschko’s face, but loses on points to Vitali Klitschko
Having already provoked Vitali Klitschko by slapping him in the face at the weigh-in for their WBC Heavyweight title fight, Dereck Chisora incensed Wladmir Klitschko this evening by spitting water in his face.
The incident happened moments before the opening bell to Chisora’s unsuccessful world title challenge and lit the touch paper for an already tense affair. However, despite his bizarre pre-fight antics and a courageous fighting effort in the ring, Dereck Chisora could not conquer in Munich.Vitali Klitschko came way with yet another successful title defence, winning by unanimous decision. However the wide margins on the scorecards did not reflect the fight, which turned out to be quite an entertaining affair. The heavy underdog Chisora made the WBC Heavyweight champion look ever bit his 40 years as he bobbed, weaved and throw some great body shots throughout the bout which appeared to have an accumulative effect in slowing down the champion.
The Ukrainian was unable to get into his stride, normally accustomed to dominating his opponents, Klitschko was forced to fight for a hard earned points victory. Experience was the the determining factor in the end and despite his living up to his boasts that he would bring the fight to the champion, ultimately Chisora didn’t possess the finesse or intensity to pull off a major upset.
As the decision was announced and the hostilities continued, Wladimir Klitschko came close to losing his cool with Del Boy Chisora. The fighters were eventually pulled apart by veteran promoter Frank Warren, who upon reflection will be licking his lips at a possible summer showdown between the pair. With all the tension and his positive performance in the ring tonight, Dereck Chisora can look forward to a big future in Heavyweight boxing.
