The Champions League Final is a Hot Ticket

The wait is almost over. The Allianz Arena is illuminated, the logo is in place, neutral colours of green and blue light up the night sky in Munich as Germany prepares for the  highly anticipated Champions League Final between Chelsea and Bayern Munich this weekend. As always the showpiece event of European football is a hot ticket and with over 30,000 Chelsea fans expected to be travelling to Germany there will be no shortage of punters for the tickets touts.

With accusations that airlines have purposely bumped up their airfares in order to cash in on Chelsea’s unexpected success, there is another nasty shock awaiting ticket-less fans.    The cost of a ticket for the final has increased dramatically and as kick off draws closer, unscrupulous touts have raised the stakes, the asking price is now a staggering £3,000 for a seat at the Allianz Arena.

However it’s a case of supply and demand and the power of negotiation lies firmly in the hands of those in possession of that ever elusive ticket.  It’s definitely an expensive business following your team on the road to European glory, but if Chelsea pull off a memorable win on Saturday and claim the Champions League title for the first time in the clubs history, the supporters who have shelled out their hard earned cash will no doubt reflect and say it was money well spent.
